iPad Mini delivery date?

So, is the delivery date November 2nd, or the ship date? If it's the ship date, I figure to receive it the following Monday, November 5th right? I am wondering because my wife's birthday is on the 3rd and I would like to pre-order for it to arrive by the 2nd, in time for it. If not it'll be a cute card and an IOU for it on Monday :)
 
I imagine it will be a lot like when I preordered my 4S, They will ship it out days before the launch as to offset the shipping time so you can receive it on launch day. I got mine on the 14th last year around 1PM so it really shouldnt be far into that day when you get your new product :)

Okay great, yeah I also pre-ordered the 4s and received it on "launch day", but didn't know if the iPad was different. Good to hear :)
