Although there are many threads for pre order times and dates, I have a question about delivery. As I have never pre ordered before, is it usual practice to receive a pre ordered item on release day, this being November 2nd? Or are they just available in shops then and actual delivery takes place a few days later.

Any experience with this, I live in the UK FYI.
