Has anyone seen a dock for the Mini? I'd like to have some sort of dock/stand for it when I get it.

Since Apple stated they aren't making one for the iPhone 5, I doubt we'll see on for the Mini. I guess we'll need to wait until some 3rd parties make them. It's also safe to assume there's some already available, but I haven't seen any yet.

how about just using a smart cover (or similar third party one when they appear) and just have the cable coming in at the side when you need to charge? Stand and case in one go :)

I believe Apple was going to open the Lightening connector license up to third party developers at the end of November so I wouldn't expect to see any legitimate docks until late December. The knock off should be out soon if they haven't already hit the market.

There are a couple of projects on Kickstarter that are making docks for the iPhone 5 and iPad / iPad mini. Both need more money to launch.

I think the cloud and Airplay made docks obsolete.

We aren't talking about iHome docks, we are talking about charging docks. While I use iCloud and AirPlay religiously, I still need a good dock to rest my iPhone/iPad on.

I guess they're leaving it to 3rd parties to make them. If you're good at woodworking or whittling you could make one yourself. There's also wire hangers and paperclips, which can be fashioned into serviceable stands.
