Come to daddy. This is the device I’ve been dreaming of. I will get a 512 GB 5G cellular model. Hope to be able to use my Apple Pencil 2 with it. It will be so much better for e-books than the 12.9 Pro I use now.

A second half release would make a lot of sense.

More likely to get an A14 update than M1. This is not a Pro line product.

Also, Apple is streamling their products, so A14 would make sense. A14 would allow Apple to hit pricepoints while maintaining profits.

The demand for A14 would also be slipping in the fall because of A15 being introduced with the next iPhone.

I would love 512GB too, but don't count on it.

So a 6.9” iPhone 13 ProMax isn’t enough you need a 8.7” tablet, because the $799 11” tablet is too much.

There’s a big difference in screen real estate among a 6.9” phone, a 7.9” tablet, an 8.7” tablet, and an 11” tablet. Also, not everyone uses an iPhone. I don’t, and won’t.

9.7” to 10.5” to 11” were all differences that in some ways didn’t seem like all that much difference and at the same time seemed like a big difference. I use both a Mini (5) and an iPP 11.

I’d love an 8“ iPhone, but Apple won’t make it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

New report adds a bit of context to this rumor

“Apple Inc. is working on a new iPad Pro with wireless charging and the first iPad mini redesign in six years, seeking to continue momentum for a category that saw rejuvenated sales during the pandemic.”

Honestly, if they added 5G and Center Stage in addition to the Air 4 specs (minus USB C and Pencil 2 support possibly), I’d be more than happy to pick up the Mini 6. If it has nothing unique compared to the Air 4, it’ll be kind of annoying that it got delayed by a year. It would remind me of the Mini 4.

Pencil 2 support might be a bit tough. The Apple pencil is as long as the current Mini is.

No way Apple is going to have a Mini and a Pro Mini. The Mini market is already really small. The profits on a Pro Mini would be even smaller to the point it wouldn't even be worth it to make such a device. The most you're getting is a Mini with the Air 4 redesign.

Realistically, smaller bezels with TouchID in the button, Wifi 6 and maybe 512GB storsage max.

I don’t expect a full-on Pro. I just would hope they’d give it at least 1-2 features that justify its 1 year delay compared to the Air 4.

Were people just as jazzed about the Mini 4? I wasn’t around here yet, so I don’t know if it had positive buzz upon its release. It was a solid entry, but kind of baffling as to why Apple didn’t change the Mini’s design and add those features a year earlier.

I guess the logical answer is that the Mini isn’t a high priority for Apple.

Don't think so. The Air 2 got a price drop to $399 at the same time the Mini 4 was released at $399. The Mini used to be the "affordable" iPad but with Mini 4, that was no longer the case. Air 2 even had some advantages like the more powerful A8X chip vs plain A8 on Mini 4.

With that said, Apple could potentially go OLED on both Mini 6 and Air 5 at the same time. If so, the delay will likely be forgivable for most.
