So this is pure speculation, but lets assume the iPad Mini does not have a retina display... which would you get for the price? I ask because, I've come to love the smaller form factor from owning a Nexus 7, and the thought of an iPad Mini is awesome.. but if it doesn't have a retina display, then I actually would rather take the Nexus 7/9.7" iPad over it.

None of the above. This late in the year, it would be worth it to wait for the 4th gen iPad. IF the Mini has retina, then I'll consider it.

Just wanted to say I love your avatar. :D
Also I would add without retinia on the mini no buy!

iPad mini 2nd gen (with retina) :D
It will replace my first gen iPad but since I'm still happily using it, no immediate need to replace it unless the new one is lighter, smaller (thus more portable) AND has a better screen (retina).

I sold my iPad 3 months ago and just sold my iPad 2 last week so the only thing that could stop me from buying an iPad Mini is if it doesnt exist.
