I missed this at first, but if you look at today's Macotakara rumor ( http://www.macotakara.jp/blog/index.php?ID=17085 ) it says the 7.85 inch iPad is similar to the iPod nano 3rd generation. That's the fat nano.

It's a very bizarre thing to make a rumor about. It's probably just another bonkers rumor, but let's say it's true. Doesn't this suggest that the iPad mini would have a significant "chin" with physical buttons on it, such as a D-pad for gaming? Maybe it's actually meant to be a gaming controller for the AppleTV?
Just throwing it out there. I don't really believe the Macotakara rumor myself.
