I just got back from my local Apple Store (Modesto, Ca) and they have the non-retina iPad mini on display now in Space Gray, thought I would share.

Yes I saw it as well. I really dig the color combo, more than the slate gray of last year.

Thanks for posting. How did it look to you?

I'm really enjoying this color. I originally bought the Black/Slate model last year and felt it was a bit to dark, so I gave my iPad mini to my mom and I bought myself the White/Silver model.

Now that its Space Gray I feel like its a good combo of both Slate and Silver, the color is right in the middle.

Thanks for the pics. Are the edges silver or is that just a reflection?

Its a combination of both, they are lighter in color than the slate model and so now they are more reflective, kind of like on the white/silver model

I just got a space gray mini. I also have the slate black mini. The thing I like about the space gray is that it doesn't seem to show fingerprints.

does anyone know if Apple will still produce 1st gen mini's in 32 or 64GB?
there website only allows you to build a 16gb in space grey

Wonder how long it will be before the first ebay scammer with zero feedback puts a non-retina space gray into a retina box and sells it to a clueless bidder with zero feedback.

16gb only.

Did you get to see how the chamfeured edges are holding up compared to previous models?

dude, carefully read the thread. He is talking about non-retina.

Since apple still producing 1st gen Ipad mini then space grey is a good idea. Just like ipod touch and ipod nano. Black/slate is discontinued because the color came off once you use it for awhile.

I like the look of it, maybe will get it since ipad mini seems like a good device for gaming. No need retina for that!!!

All the previous Slate iPad minis have been replaced with the new Space Gray, but I'm sure they just got put up in the last few days so its hard to fully judge the durability of these models.

But from the 2 that I used, they looked fine with no dings or scratches.

!

I have both Slate and Silver models with 4 nephews under the age of 10 who come over after school for a while and use them, no case and neither of them have dings or scratches/scuff marks.
