iPad mini ipad mini wifi signal

I have an ipad mini on verizon. at home I have the latest airport extreme.
When connected to the wifi router I only get a small dot where you supposed to see the full wifi signal. This is regardless the distance from the router.
Iphone 5 and 2 macbook pro show full signal in the same room.
The download speed is similar with iphone 5.
Does anybody else experience that?
I know that I can exchange it,but is still working is just the little icon missing which nags me!

Yes i think it's a software bug, i got 1 bar next to my airport extereme, but when i did speed test, connection is 100% normal. I think it's an iOS bug not showing accurate display of the wifi signals. The temporary fix is restarting the device.
