I have been using the new iPad mini with retina display for 2-3 days now, I have noticed chrome, pulse, gmail and etc crash a lot. Even if I clear all the other apps running in the background. Is this a hardware issue or software issue that could be fixed with software update?

Im not having those problems, bought mine today and ive been playing with it for several hours and no crash yet... Restart the ipad it might help!

Did you setup as new or restore from backup?

Yeah I tried that too, but still happening after restarting the ipad mini.

I did a brand new setup.. I wonder if I should exchange it or wait it out for software update.

Exchange it. If you setup as new and its crashing, there is something wrong with it.

You wanna try? Go to settings and double tap on "wallpapers and brightness". Volla!

Doctor, it hurts when I do that.

Then don't do that.

They normally wouldn't, of course. But definitely would be considered a bug from a programmer's perspective.

Yes, but what has that got to do with the op?

Chrome seems to crash much more on my iPad rMini than it did on my Mini. Has anyone else noticed that? Is trashing the app and reinstalling likely to help (guessing either way it can't hinder)? I restored from iCloud backup for what it's worth.

I don't know about the others but the Gmail app crashes on my non-retina mini every time there is an upgrade to IOS. If I delete the app then re-install it it then works correctly.
