What do you guys think? I'm about to buy a Mini at Apple, probably refurbished. It's only $280. I honestly want it for school. Main use.

I'll take notes, open PDF files, ebooks, just college stuff. But is it worth it right now? Or should I wait until the Mini 2 comes out? Whenever that is.

i personally would not want a non-retina tablet...

I was just in a similar position as you. Read my ebay thread I posted yesterday. You can get some ridiculous deals on there if u look hard enough.

I'd wait. A high resolution display is a must have for me. That's why I never purchased the iPad mini.

I'm using the Nexus 7 2013 right now and love it, and a iPad mini with 300 plus DPI would be even better.

Just curious - are you going to sell the Nexus 7 if and when an iPad mini with retina is announced? Or are you going to sit this one out until your Nexus wears out?

What a novel question.

I went from a 3 to the Mini and couldn't be happier. The screen for me is barely noticeable and I like the form factor, so it was a no-brainer for me.

I'm going to keep both. One for me and one for my wife. We both like using Android & iOS. I personally like the 4:3 form factor of the iPad, but the 2013 Nexus 7 is more portable.

So will be good to have options.

I actually bought one. I mean, even if the Mini 2 comes out this year. It probably won't be until November. I don't want to wait that long. I wanted it for this upcoming semester.

Plus, if anything I'd sell this and get the new Mini if it's worth it. Haha, haven't received it yet but I'm happy. :)

when is the mini 2 coming cout?

At least wait until September 10 to see if they announce anything about the mini

I'm hoping they announce info on the next iPad's but from what i've read it's primarily going to focus on the iPhone and iOS 7. I suspect they will say someting shortly after that. I'm looking forward to the new mini as well as the iPad 5.

iPad Mini = Totally worth it.

It's amazing. And to be honest, I don't have an issue not being a retina display. The display is already solid enough. It's worth it.

Get it now. Why wait 3 months longer?

The iPad mini 3 in 12 months later will be your 2nd iPad Mini. See how things work out?
