I’m finding that if I’m watching Netflix and I want to use Safari real quick, but it’s not in my dock, I have to exit Netflix, open Safari so it’s now in the recently used section of my dock, then exit Safari, go back to Netflix, and pull up the dock so I can add a Safari window while in Netflix. In iOS 10, i’d just swipe left and select Safari while watching Netflix. Is there an easier way to do this in iOS 11 that I’m missing?

I think you have to exit Netflix. Then tap and hold on safari while using your other finger to reopen Netflix. Then just drop safari on the side to invoke split screen. Not ideal but it's a solution.

The whole point of iOS 11 is to treat the iPad more like a mac. Which is why they allow up to 15 apps in the dock....curious as to why safari isn't already in your dock but I guess that's your prerogative.

Ok thank you. Safari is in my dock, I was just trying to think of a quick example to explain what I meant. I didn’t realize the dock held that many apps though, so I guess I will have to start utilizing that. Thanks!

Also, if you have multi-finger gestures enabled (Settings > General > Multitasking & Dock) you can swipe back and forth between recently used apps
