I like the dropping of the incremental numbering system. Referring to iPad as just iPad brings it in line with most of Apple's products.

But if you want to refer to a specific model then you would refer to it as 2012 iPad, as you would the 2011 iMac.

It's GREAT.

No more "disappointment" for names like "4S"

and no more stupid rumors about whether the new iPhone will be called iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 or iPhone 4G or iPhone 4G HD Super AMOLED Plus Tiger Edition with Holy mother beats audio....

We can actually shift our focus back on the features :)

My thoughts are that there are already like 5+ threads talking about this and that a simple search could have yielded you a thread to post in instead of making your own.
