How many people with iPads still use their MacBooks or notebooks as a primary device for non work use?

There is no possible way my iPad Air 2 could replace either my laptop or desktops. My iPad is for out in the field and general Internet use. Until they do full PhotoShop and AutoCad . . . . .

Yes, for those doing photo editing or other processor intensive activities but for general use people often see the iPad and MacBook air as comparable products.

I own an iPad and a MBP. Neither are used for work, unless I work from home. My company provides a desktop PC. If I do work from home I remote log in to my work computer with my MBP. If I really needed to I could access my work computer with my iPad, but it is not ideal.

For non-work use, yes, I'd say that the iPad is the device I use the most. Since I got my iPad, I hardly sit down at my desktop computer at home anymore.

Question for someone who it sounds like is a pro.....

Have you tried out/used Pixelmator on an iPad Air 2? How does it compare to tradition PhotoShop on a laptop or desktop.

I'm not knowledgeable of such things and for what I do (dabble) Pixelmator has been phenomenal. I've heard great things generally, but I'd be interested in a specific user's take/opinion.

Count me in as using my iPad as my main computing device. I have an iMac at home I run my media for the house through and a 13" MBA for school work (only reason being some of my classes have required specific data add-ons for Excel).

Honestly, if I didn't have the Excel issue, I'd be able to use my iPad for all my school work as well. I already do use it for somethings related to my education. For almost everything else, I use my iPad.

Do you use a keyboard with ipad?

Nope - just a traditional smart cover. Don't like to add bulk as the iPad Air 2's sleek form factor is part of its allure for me.

And what do you use it for mainly? Word documents and surfing the web?

Pretty much everything:

-Games
-Reading
-Web Surfing
-Word Documents
-Spreadsheets
-Banking
-Social Media
-Photo Editing
-Controlling my home network
-Controlling my AppleTVs
-School Work
-Watching videos/movies
-Music

There's very little I CAN'T do on my iPad.

I passed my MacBook Air on when I got my iPad Air 2 since basically everything I used my MBA for I can do on the iPad. I mostly use the iPad for web browsing, reading, email, and videos. I have a bunch of games downloaded to it that I haven't gotten around to yet. For everything else I have the Mac mini.

For me it is really close to 50/50 (probably shouldn't have voted in the poll).

Some nights I'll use the iPad exclusivesly and not even pull my macbook air out of my bag. Other nights I will do most browsing/etc on the macbook. Often when I am feeling guilty and thinking that I should try to do work I will use my macbook (even though no work is being done) simply because the possibility of doing work is there.
