iPad Ipad not recognized in iTunes

I have the latest version of iTunes installed on my window 7 laptop and both my ipad4 and iPod touch have the latest ios installed.

Recently iTunes will recognize my iPod touch but not my ipad4. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes with the same result. Any suggestions on what else to try?
