ipad not working with phones wifi hotspot

Hi all, since updating to ios5 on my ipad it won't work properly with my Samsung wifi hotspot. It connects but safari etc thinks theres no internet. It worked before the update and since we have bought a second Samsung galaxy s2 and it doesn't work with this either...

Any suggestions would be gratefully received, i have already tried resetting the network settings on the ipad.
