Hi folks,

Just a wee heads up - it looks like the iPad is now eligible for the Higher Education discount, at least in the UK. It's not a great discount, the 32GB Wifi model only goes from £479 to £464.40, but it's still better than a kick in the teeth.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I thought I'd let you guys know.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a teacher discount.

I'd love to use it to teach and mirror it to the projector I use.

Hi is this new? I just spoke to apple and went into the Birmingham store and they said there is no student discount on the ipad. Is it just rolling out and they don't know yet?

the apple people i have spoken to say there isn't even a few quid off. Nothing. The same price

I think any iPad wanting to be a student should pay full tuition. On the other hand, any human wanting to continue their education should get a discount. JMHO. :D

16: £387.60 (£11.40)
32: £464.40 (£14.60)
64: £542.40 (£16.60)

3G
16: £483.60 (£15.40)
32: £561.60 (£17.40)
64: £639.60 (£19.40)

Not exactly massive savings are they?

This discount appears online, but in-store employees know nothing about it! I bought my iPad yesterday, and was lucky to get the in-store people to honour the discount, but they weren't entirely happy about it. Even the store manager knew nothing about it...

So, in summary, it IS possible to get the discount in-store, but only if you are prepared to demand it!
