iPad Original & Apple Digital AV Adapter

If anyone bought the Apple Digital AV Adapter and have the original iPad, can you mirror the screen on the original iPad as well? Or is it only for the iPad 2?

Apple's online store states that it works for the original iPad:

I believe it doesn't. I was wondering the same thing and in another post someone said it has something to do with the original ipad software which doesn't allow it to mirror some applications. I could be wrong on this (I am hoping I am since I would like it to!)

"Mirroring supported only by iPad 2."
