I just bought a new Magic Keyboard for my iPad 12.9 with M1. With iOS 16, the magic keyboard is not charging the iPad through the port built in to the keyboard itself. I’m wondering if anyone else may be experiencing a similar issue? Currently doing the latest update so will keep you all posted to see if this fixes it.

I have the same iPad Pro and MK and have not had any issues in charging on this beta or any others. In addition to restarting your ipad maybe you could clean off the terminals on the ipad and the keyboard. I assume the charger and cord you’re using charges the ipad directly.

I will give this a try right now. I appreciate the suggestion. The cable and block I use do charge the iPad directly just fine.

*edit* I just did a cleaning of them and no change. Still shows “not charging”. Is there any specific way that is recommended?

Can you try the original charger and cable the iPP came with? Unrelated to iPadOS 16 people had - sometimes suddenly - problems with other charger&cables… see e.g. here.

My m1 iPad, which wife uses had the same issue. I closed all safari tabs, closed all open programs, shutdown, cleaned the ports with isopropyl, turned it back on and the issue was resolved.
