Bearing in mind the crippling wifi problem I and others have had with the 4.2 GM on the iPad, now would be a good time to backups your SHSH hashes by using TinyUmbrella.
This will mean that if you experience the wifi problems described in the above thread (basically flaking out completely unless you're standing right next to your router), you will be able to go back to 3.2.2. The wifi issue seems to be particularly affecting those using b/g non-Apple routers.
If your hashes arent backed up, you effectively have no control over the situation and will have to sit it out until Apple fixes the problem with a 4.2.1 release, or go to your local Apple store and try to persuade them to give you another iPad (which may well suffer the same issue).
Hopefully 4.2 will be released with the issue already fixed, but the fact that the issue was in their Golden Master release is worrying. The build number of the GM release is 8C134, so we'll see if this changes with the public release. If its the same build, I can see there being A LOT of angry people with broken wifi and no way to get it working again (like my father, who uses his iPad at work and would go mental!).
As Saurik has said, even if you never plan to jailbreak your device, backing up your hashes at least means you can "go back to where you were", should you have issues with new firmware.
