iPad plug to ethernet cable adapter?

Hi,

I don't know if this even exists, but is there such an adapter that combines an ethernet cable to an iPad 2 plug?
I'm helping a client set up a trade show and wifi is crazy expensive. I'm wondering if there's a way to hardwire an iPad 2 with internet.

Any ideas or tips on how to do this? Any hacks available?

Nope. Just use a router or portable hotspot like the ASUS WL-330GE or AirPort Express.

Nope. Have you considered tethering over WiFi to a 3G or 4G smartphone or MiFi? You haven't mentioned what your bandwidth requirements are.

By the way, what do you plan on hardwiring the iPad to?

Airport Express sounds like a very nice solution.

Tether it to your laptop if theres a laptop available. I know macbooks and most pc laptops will allow you to do this.

This is probably the cheapest available option if the convention center is supplying ethernet for free (or cheap).

Mac: Create a computer-to-computer network
Windows: Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

OP (original poster), basically your client will be creating a wifi router from his computer so the iPad will see it as a wifi router and can connect to it.
