Anyone like to make a guess at how much the iPad is going to retail for in the UK & why Apple didn't release this info when the iPad was announced?

Base price of £380-£420 (including VAT: US prices are tax free)

Why didn't they announce the price straight away? Because there was a large time between announcement and shipping and the exchange rates could move a long way either losing Apple a lot of money or making their price look way too high on shipping

Yea, makes sense, thanks for that.

UK Eurpopean Ipad Pricing?

Any ideas when this is going to be announced? Will it differ from that of the american prices given? Will it transfer across directly into pounds?(Making the most expensive one just over the £500 mark?) Or will they make it extortionate like they tend to do in the UK and Europe? Will the software differ between the american Ipad's and that of the UK/European otherwise would it not be usb compatible? (My Brain hurts T.T) Anyways if anyone has an idea of any of this it would be very helpful ;)

Already discussed here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/854917/

Nobody know how much they'll cost yet. Reports have said we won't know until it's released.

Average Apple exchange rate seems to be around 1.22 to 1.28 (comparing Apple's untaxed prices on the US Store to the taxed UK prices).

Just remains to be seen if they try to price it attractively and keep the prices under the nearest hundred pound mark (ie £399 for the base model).

Software should be pretty similar it just remains to be seen if the iBook app/store is available in the UK at launch.
