I woke my iPad Pro to the horrible surprise of a dead line of pixels on Friday. Keep in mind that there’s been no drops or misuse. Today I made my way to the Apple Store Covent Garden to try and get to the bottom of it. There’s no sign of damage and they ran their ‘Mobile resource inspector’ which found no hardware issues. They then ran ‘Display pixel anomalies’ and logged where the display issue was present.

This iPad ‘Pro’ was bought in January 2016 so it’s out of warranty and was bought through O2 as part of a contract. Apple weren’t able to offer me anything other than to pay £559 for a replacement. O2 don’t offer loaner iPad’s, so I’m a little stuck. I also don’t know if they will look at a device running iOS11 just yet (not a iOS11 problem as system restore and device boot up makes evident)...

Has anyone had this fault? If so what is it commonly known as. Can anyone give any advice on how to deal with this and get a quick resolution?
