Picked up my iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 3 the other day and I noticed kind of by accident that when applying a bit of pressure on the screen about 3 - 4 inches directly under the front camera there is this odd clicking/sticking sound. Almost like the back of the display if sticking to something underneath and releasing. I was curious if anyone else noticed this on theirs ?

Thanks.

All iPads from London Drugs do that. If it bothers you, don’t press there.

You might discover that other objects around your home make sounds when pressed. Explore your TV, refrigerator, oven, toaster, even your car. I’m sure the car makes sound when you press on the body panels.

Ya no s**t. I wanna know if others have the same issue. I can't think of what could be making that sticky/clicking noise.

Can you film this by any chance and share that?

Your finger applying pressure on what is inside the iPad is what makes the sound. What is inside the iPad (chips, circuit boards, battery!, lots of glue)?

Here check this out.

Keep in mind it sounds way louder in this video than it does in real life. Also it does it in and out of the case.

This **** again. I bought the second generation 12.9 Pro when it came out. Had exactly the same issue with mine. Took a long time to get it replaced because Apple could not find the issue at first. When they finally did I got a second one with the same issue. Got that one replaced as well, but the third one had the same problem. Bought a Macbook Pro instead. If you search there should be several threads about this issue.

I only recently tried another iPad Pro when the 2020 came out. My 11 inch does not have this problem. Finally!

Wow crazy. Well at least it's "normal'. What the hell do you think is making that noise ?

I would definitely approach Apple with this. My wife has that current shape iPad Pro and it’s not making that noise.

Thank you for sharing.

Ya i might do that but it seems fairly common. Is your wives a 2018 or 2020 model ?
