So, I have this weird thing that happens about once or twice a day. When I wake my iPad and use it, sometimes it wakes in the very dim mode at like 10% brightness. Like it uses when it jumps into Face ID mode. When it does that I can operate it (though things are very dark) so it's not like it's in some kind of sleep mode, but the dimmer slider in Control Center doesn't do a thing, though I can slide it around. The only way I can get it to appear with the proper light levels is to close the smart cover and reopen it.

Anyone ever see this kind of behavior? Is this a software update kind of thing, or does it indicate some kind of hardware defect?

Auto brightness maybe?
