Has anyone ever had issues with magnets on their iPad Pro?
The iPad Pro (in silver) I got on Sunday had this weird issue, when used with my Spigen Rugged Armor Pro case, where flipping the case back onto the iPad at a certain angle would cause the iPad to lock. It was as though the iPad thought that the case cover was flipped to the front. I had no other case to test with.
I was half expecting an issue with the case (although none of the reviews I read online mentioned this as an issue), but out of curiosity I decided to do an exchange of my iPad at the Apple Store since I wanted Space Grey anyway (which was out of stock initially).
To my surprise, the replacement iPad does not have the same issue, unless I use it on my metal Ikea laptop tray (which I guess changes the orientation of the magnets somewhat).
Just find it to be a strange issue and was wondering if anyone experienced this issue before? Could there be a possibility that placing the iPad on a magnetic, metallic object for long periods of time will change the polarity of the magnets within the iPad or cause the magnets to malfunction?
I had placed the initial iPad Pro on the laptop tray overnight and I am worried that this caused the issue to happen (although it could be the case that the old iPad was defective from the outset), and I am worried using my replacement iPad Pro on the laptop tray will cause similar issues moving forward.
