The sources are some german and austrian news articles.

Since prices in Austria (20% VAT) and Germany (19% VAT) are always the same in the online Apple Store, I think it will be also the same price in other countries with an equal tax rate.

"iPad Pro starts at a recommended retail price of A$1,249"

Holy crap, And that isn't even including the pencil or keyboard lolz

for that I can the surface pro 4 which includes the pen, a more powerful operating system and performance, and an extra 96GB of memory, all for an extra 100 bucks.

Apple have priced themselves out of a market.

Die hard Apple fans are always willing to pay the big bucks, this is something apple knows (;.

Considering an iPad Air 2 128gb costs $699, it shouldn't come as any surprise that the more powerful larger version of the device is $250 more. I think the keyboard is really expensive though. Hopefully the accessory market handles that though.

I'm in the UK so understand the pain of 20% VAT.
