The M4 chip is right behind the Apple logo, which has a thin layer of copper plus graphite paper sandwiched in between.

This video is a great response to all the people saying the batteries are smaller to make it thinner. Look it all the unused space to the left and right of the batteries. They could've made the batteries bigger and made the whole thing thinner. They probably didn't to save weight.

The battery under the “top/right” of the iPad is next to the Face ID array and front-facing camera/Pencil connector assembly. I don’t think there’s room there for more battery.

Not sure what is on the other side next to the other battery; that might have been some area they could have used for battery, but maybe they wanted to use the same sized batteries for calibration purposes or something. Pure, uneducated guessing there.

On the left is I believe the controller board for the screen.

EDIT:

@klasma beat me to it.

These breakdown videos are painful to watch.
The painful thing is they have AppleCare+ and take it back to Apple and claim they accidentally ran over it with their car. And Apple gives them a new one. That’s why the “drop” test or tear down videos are so popular.

It’s insurance fraud doing that. Not a great idea if you are publishing videos showing what really happened.
