The benchmark are amazing.

Benchmarks are what the marketing wants you to see. By the way it really is fast… and the M4, or even the M2 for most, where fast too
The same file, rendering, 10;36 minutes with M5 and 16;27 for the M2.
In mobility, iPad born for mobility, is a big difference.

Yes they are amazing. Probably Apples best device imo.
… until the next one 😅

so the M2 is still fast, and the M5 is … faster. It is not a revolution, but just an evolution. To be honest I was expecting more by this upgrade from M4 to M5.

I honestly didn't imagine what this iPad Pro M5 would be like.
The iPad Pro M4 was fine as it was.
I'm very happy with iPadOS, which makes the iPad more interesting.
I never expect big changes from one model to the next; I don't have any particular needs to want something different.

the CPU performance increase is very modest compared to M4. It's just like M1 to M2, modest CPU increase, bigger GPU increase (if you have anything that uses that GPU power)

M5 is CPU +15% and GPU +35% ROM +20%
a lot? a little? I don't know.

CPU, a little. M4 was a much bigger jump. Already vs M3, on iPad pro even more as there was no M3.
Personally I have no use for the GPU power as I don't game or use anything that takes advantage of the increase in power. For me the main deal with M5 is RAM, as I had issues with 8GB M4. The speed increase vs M4 matters 0 to me. I can barely feel the difference with M1, let alone with M4 (I have the A9X, A10X, A12X, M1, M2, M4 and M5 iPad pro).

The M5 is such an amazing chip. That doesn’t mean that the M4 or M2 weren’t, it’s just that the M5 is the latest and greatest. Apple is so far ahead of the competition that the new iPad Pro’s biggest competitor is…..last year’s iPad Pro

Yes I meant the whole iPad Pro line from the 2018 model onwards.
