iPad Pro iPad Pro M5 overheating in windowed apps mode while watching movies

I am on iPadOS 26.1 beta 3.

I learned how to enable slide over for messages and did that a couple days ago. Last night I was watching a movie on Disney+ and my iPad got very hot to the touch. I remembered that I had recently enabled windowed apps and slide over, so I disabled that and my iPad cooled off quickly.

I don’t know if it’s something to do with the beta or if Disney needs to update their app, but I thought that was really strange. I’ve never had anything like that happen before.

Hopefully it gets sorted quickly, I really like using slide over for messages.

Try a hard reset. I haven’t had any overheating problems on my m5 and my usage is similar to you.
