Ipad Pro Magic Keyboard and CoverBuddy combo order thread

Magic keyboard seems good but it looks like it fails in tablet mode because it will not be protected when away from keyboard. SwitchEasy CoverBuddy may solve that problem. Anybody buy the 2018 version and can share their thoughts? Just preordered it and it looks like the company is in China. So I hope it wont be a long wait. Anybody else thinking of ordering this for their ipad pro? Thanks

I have had one of these cases in grey for about a year, that I use with the standard Apple keyboard case. Its very slim and works well. I also like the fact that it keeps my Apple Pencil safe. I bought mine on eBay. It was also available in white or black at the time.

Wow thanks. Did it add considerable weight when attached to keyboard?
 
Just ordered one for my 12.9” iPad Pro. Magic Keyboard expected to arrive between 4/24 and 5/1. Looks like a good combo since the Coverbuddy is very light. I also almost always lose my Apple Pencil since it tends to fall off and get misplaced. Can’t wait for the new Magic Keyboard.

I just got my MK for the iPad Pro 11. They’re heavy and bulky as is.
I would not want another case around the the iPad cos it will make it very hard to handle.
 
Ordered mine last week for the 2020 11 inch, it shipped Friday but it’s gunna be a while I feel til it actually comes

I am writing this post from my Magic Keyboard! 🙌
That Coverbuddy is quite intriguing, and I found myself on the cusp of ordering several times over the last few days. However, I’ve decided for now to hold off. I don’t anticipate the added weight to be an issue, rather that I’m OK with the edges of the iPad & Apple Pencil being exposed.

That said, will keep a close eye on this thread & look forward to hearing your reviews. Might eventually change my mind...

Do they make a model that fits the new iPad with the enlarged camera module? The current cover buddy will not fit the new iPad.
 
Thanks - I ordered. Concerned as I read a lot of magazines on my iPad.
 
Mine is already took 3 weeks. I made my 1st pre-order on 3rd Apr And the website mention is start delivery on 7 Apr. But slowly the web been changing order date from 9th to 14th, then 16th April. They have shipped mine on 14th and till now still have no news...
Beware that they are not using DHL or UPS... but they are using 4px. So don’t expect it to deliver very fast. They are HK base company.

I'm opting for a skin instead of some kind of additional cover. I've really been liking having a dBrand skin on my Nintendo Switch, so I ordered one for my 12.9" iPad Pro too.

If you look at Federico's Magic Keyboard review here, he does mention that his 2018 model Cover Buddy does not allow the Magic Keyboard to fully close: magic-keyboard-for-ipad-pro-a-new-breed-of-laptop I have to wonder if they have remedied that now or not.

Also--I know this may sound weird, but I hate the idea of any case/cover that requires me to slide the Pencil off of the side of the iPad rather than just place it there. I know that most people out there aren't as picky as I am about wear and tear, but I do not want the Pencil marking up the side of my iPad and I've seen a lot of them out in the wild that have that issue.

My ideal side protection would be something like the iPhone 4 bumper. I just want someone to give me something like that but way thinner and less obtrusive and that lets me still use the Magic Keyboard.

I figured that was the case....I've had things take 2+ months to get to me....I'm waiting for it to show up on Amazon :)

Can confirm. I just tried the cover buddy with the new 12.9 Magic keyboard. It closes, but not all the way. The weight of the screen will keep it closed but when you pick it up it opens about 1/4-1/2 inch. Not a great situation. Ill be returning the buddy system. BTW- typing on this is GREAT!
 
I have one I bought many months ago for my 11” gen 1 iPad Pro.
Kind of had forgotten all about it... I actually quit using it a long time back because I thought it notably weakened the magnets holding the smart folio and keyboard folio in place. I’ll dig it out and try it with the new Magic Keyboard.
 
Switcheasy claimed they shipped my case buddy, and claimed that they are overwhelmed with orders. Hopefully there will be tracking available later since none was provided.

Ok- I bought it off Amazon and it is in fact the 2019 version. Ive already boxed up so no pics sorry. Id like to see how the 2020's work out. Thanks
