I’ve got a weird issue with my Magic Keyboard.

Using an Anker USB-C cable and the Apple USB-C plug, which works fine when the MK is on a desk etc and using pass-through. when it is on my lap, the charging connects and then disconnects and remains off.

It actually feels like the connections are ‘wobbly’ on the inside of the pass through port, and maybe are being disconnected when the iPad in its MK are on a lap with movement rather than on a desk.

Booked for the Genius Bar this week, but wondered if anyone else experiencing similar issues.

Your post is the first I have read about this issue here. When you place it on the table, does the port feel firm if you try to slightly jiggle the cord?

Is there any tension on the cable when on your lap?

It does feel firm when on a table, and the ‘jiggliness’ is when it’s on my lap. Plenty of slack on the power cable.

Try a different cable and see what happens.
Tried that, same issue. Booked into Genius Bar, but wanted to get a feel for whether this is unique or anyone else has had something similar. Obviously some sort of hardware issue when the MK is on lap and pass through charging
