Hello everyone,

I am in love with my new magic keyboard, however theres one issue thats bothering me.

When I use the passthrough charging port, the ipad charges normally however if I close my ipad the charging via passthrough stops in a couple of minutes after. I can attest to this via measuring my percentage before I put it to sleep, and then coming back an hour later only to find it at the same percentage.

I have had to resort to using my ipad pro charging port to combat this issue, but this defeats the purpose of having an additional port to charge with.

I wanted to know if this is a normal phenomenon.

By closing the ipad I mean, just to put the ipad to sleep as one does when u finish your work/task.

I haven’t tried it out... I can test it and see if I can get back to you

I will test it also tonight and report back. I should be below 75% by the time I hook it up overnight. I do normally charge it via the MK and I never noticed it not being 100% the next morning.

Update following morning:
I can confirm that my iPad Pro on the MK is 100% charged using the MK USBC charging port. I typically charge it that way overnight and it works for me. My lid was closed just to confirm that.

Update:
I left my iPad at 70% battery and charged through the MK and in the morning, it was at 100%. It might be an isolated incident for you.

A mere restart on the ipad fixed this problem.

Also, the battery drain was fixed via this.

Many people are stating the issue about battery drain, I turned off my cellular connection, and bluetooth connection and put it on airplane mode when not needed, in addition to turning off backlight manually.

This has fixed my issues, hope this helps.
