There's no reason to think it should, unless you're using a magnifying glass. Does it look bad on a similarly-sized MacBook Pro or a 27" iMac, or a 60" HDTV?

Yup, I have a 4k monitor and watching 1080 video is ugly. I guess I'll start watching videos PIP style. I probably will need to format all movies at 1440 or 4k resolution now when I watch them with the Infuse Pro app.
Do you think 'The Martian' movie that they used as a demo on their site and reveal was in 4k?
I can understand how 1080p wouldn't compare well to 4k on a display that can support 4k, but the iPad isn't capable of 4k at native resolution anyway - 4096x3072 (4K) vs 2732x2048 (iPad Pro).
I got tired of "it can never be good enough" in the days of Hi-Fi. If you have the luxury of limiting yourself to 4k source material, great! I'm quite confident that the display won't be "too good" to display satisfying 1080p for all those less discerning than yourself.
