Hello,
I have an Ipad Pro 9.7" and have noticed that the screen has much more tooth & resistance than other tablet screens. I assume this is by design to make drawing with the Apple Pencil more natural.
However I have noticed that this 'roughness' is uneven. When using the Apple Pencil I notice that it would suddenly grip more and I can literally feel the resistance when moving towards the middle of the screen to the point were it is disruptive. I know you want some grip for drawing but the unevenness is very noticeable and problematic. I have tested it over and over with different angles and pressures and the sides and corners of the screen are noticeably much smoother. Even in the middle of the screen there are certain parts that are more grippy then other areas. I can also notice the difference with touch by finger as it is much smoother and no resistance on sides and especially corners.
I wonder if there is something wrong with the coating on my screen.
Has anyone else noticed uneven screen surface? Please can you test this out on your iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
One of the first things I noticed when using the iPad Pro is that I strain my wrists when using the touchscreen (yes I have a weakness) but have never noticed this with other tablets even with regular and long use. There is a lot of grip and resistance on the Ipad Pro screen and with repeated use of the touch screen and gestures my wrists get sore very quickly which I have never had and still don't have when using other tablet devices.
Another thing I noticed straight away with the Ipad Pro is that it literally attracts fingerprints instantly. I know this has been mentioned by other on macrumors.
I can clean it and straight away it has fingerprints whilst an old samsung tablet does not get fingerprints even when I deliberately try. I love the Ipad but this is quite irritating. I can use other Ipads (non pro) and it is not like this.
Many are understandably looking for a rougher screen surface for drawing but it seems I may need a glass screen protector to make it more even surface and less resistance for hand strain.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed the uneven surface.
Thanks
