I have the 128GB + LTE version with T-Mobile and very good signal. If I leave it overnight (around 8 hours) idle with no applications running just after a reset (Power + Home until it will reboot) it will drain an average of 1% per hour, here are some measurements:
- 11/28/2015: 10PM (70%) ---> 6AM (61%)
- 11/30/2015: 10PM (47%) ---> 6AM (37%)
- 12/01/2015: 10AM (72%) ---> 6PM (65%)
Normally on my other iDevices (iPhone, iPad) the overnight discharge will be around 1-3% but never 10%, it seems to much to me, the device will not last more than 3-4 days, and Apple usually advertises up to 30 days standby on iOS devices.
Things I have done proactively to optimize battery usage:
- During the night "Do Not Disturb" is active
- Optimize location usage
- Optimize background app usage
- Disable Fetch in Mail
- The iPad Pro was configured fresh, NO restore from backup
- I have almost the same apps on the iPhone 6S Plus and no drain overnight
- Usually I will wait until the battery is 5-10% before a full recharge
- Contacted AppleCare over the phone and the iOS diagnostic was fine
I have an appointment tomorrow at the Genius Bar, but I really do not know what else they can do? any suggestion? what discharge % are you getting on your iPad Pro's? thank you
