iPad Pro trade-in issues. Apple store rep lied /misinformed.

I moved to London in February but still also reside in Dallas and was just in Dallas two weeks ago. I initiated a trade in of the 2021 iPad Pro 12.9”.

Apple offered $655 gift card. I go to the Dallas Galleria Mall Apple Store to trade it in and the rep says “you should use it on the plane ride back to London and trade it in there for the equivalent”.

I go to the London Regent Store, they offer £370 which is $464. They won’t honor the price I was given and the information I was told.

I’ve talked to the store manager and Apple support.

Nobody will honor the price and lie / misinformation I was given.

Not sure what to do here? Am I basically screwed out of $200?

You can’t do anything. Not only did Apple massively lower the prices on all trade-ins except iPhones recently but values can vary depending on country.

How soon will you be returning to the U.S.? If you have a U.S. address (Dallas) and the trade-in is unchanged in the U.S., then you can order the new iPad online and initiate the trade-in, and plan to pick up the new iPad or have it shipped to your address in the U.S. If you won't be back to Dallas for a few months then the trade-in may change a bit between now and then but it will still likely be better than what it is in London.

Guess I have to accept that this persons mistake has now costed me $200 in trade in credit.
