I have a 4th gen iPad that is falling apart, literally. A few months ago my wife dropped it on the floor, smashing the screen. The iPad was still usable though, just with extensive cracks all over the screen. Shortly after that the sound started going, with the maximum volume barely audible. Within the past few days the touch screen has become unresponsive. I'd like to get rid of this iPad, but I don't know how to do things like access my account or turn off find my iPad. I have an appointment at the local Apple Store on Thursday to deal with this but I was wondering if there is any way for me to shut down everything on the iPad from home with an unresponsive touch screen.
