I got a my iPad refurb directly from Apple last week and I wanted to protect it from accidental damages which of course Apple doe not cover.

I searched around and I found that protectyourbubble.com offered a a good monthly/anual rate for the iPad so I purchased it.
After a few days I got an email from them saying that the device couldn't not be insured with them because it's a refurbished model. I replied back stating that even though it was a refurb, according to Apple's online store everything in the device was brand new and comes with a 1-year warranty with the option of getting AppleCare for an extra year.
They replied and told me that refurbished products do not count as per the terms and conditions.

Is this true? Because it's branded with the 'refurbished' title I can't cover it against dropping it :(
I emailed another insurance company to see if they will cover it, but so far no reply. I'd hate to buy another policy and find out that I'm not covered if I make a claim.
