iPad screen looks odd

I have recently upgraded my iPad 1st gen 16GB to a iPad 1st gen 32GB. I took advantage of the cheaper pricing . I have noticed that at 50% brightness or higher there is a strange banding pattern that appears on the screen ONLY on a BLACK background. See pic below. Viewing normal content seems fine. This just seems weird but I've been dealing with it as it doesn't affect typical usage.

I know its not a huge deal but does anyone with an iPad 1 or iPad 2 notice this? Or is it just a slight defect?

I have the same thing on my iPad 16GB (refurb). Only noticeable on all-black screen with high brightness. Otherwise, you can't see it.

Thanks! Nice to know im not the only one. Wondering if they all have that issue at 100% brightness.

I have this on my android phone and my macbook pro.

It's the anti glare coating.
