My ipad randomaly shut off while watching a movie in the movies app. It was running 6.1.x. After it crashed, it showed the logo and then the screen displayed black (it was lit). Now nothing happens at all

It will not turn on. I was able to have it enter DFU mode when I have it plugged into itunes. However, aside from that (it saying it needs to be restored), there is no indication that it is working. The ipad does not ever turn on

Is my ipad recoverable? it is the ipad 2

If it shows up in iTunes and says it needs to be restored then it is most likely working (it is turned on, just not booting up) and it's just the software that is fouled. Restore it and see what happens. If it doesn't restore and gives you an error or just goes back to that recovery mode then you have clues that it is possibly the hardware.

I get an error 4014 when I try to restore it. I can't seem to do anything with it. Is it a hardware issue? The iPad seems as dead as can be

I had taken it to the apple store and they said it had a hardware issue and was dead.

It would not turn on no matter what I did, and would have error messages whenever I tried to restore/dfu restore

Lo and behold, a few months go by and figure I would see what would happen if I tried charging it up again......and it works

I have no idea what happened. It was jailbroken so I think it had to be related to that and literally bricked it of months

No idea how it got fixed but I'll take it. I just bought a nexus 7 to replace it and upon having it work again, returned it lol

First be sure you have latestest iTunes.

4014 indicates a hardware issue but is usually, the cable or the port.

Try another cable.

Try another USB slot.

Try another computer.

If you can get it into recovery mode set it up as new
