Hi guys, just a question really, earlier my mac came in contact with my ipad mini, and the whole laptop went black and the music i was playing stopped. when i removed the ipad it came back on again. After this i took the smart cover off my ipad and rubbed it across the left speaker of my laptop (15" retina 2013) and the same happened again. Is this just where the location of the sensor for turning off the screen is when the lid is shut or should I be concerned?

Nope, you shouldn't be concerned. The iPad and MBP both use magnets for detecting when the cover/lid is closed :).
