Hi all,

I belong to an organization that is installing new 70” monitors, speakers and a projector in a room that is used for meetings etc. They want to use new iPads (model suggestions appreciated) to control and play video and audio content. They're not using a switcher for distribution, just playing from iPad to monitors and speakers. Is there software that can be used as the main brain/controller to play everything, or will we just have to use QuickTime? Thanks so much for any guidance!

You can do this cable bound or wireless via Airplay. For convenience the latter solution requires an Apple TV (per monitor). From there you can play videos, photo slide shows, mirror whatever content of an iPad to the connected monitor - Netflix, VLC, Excel, Keynote, Garageband, Youtube, et cetera will be displayed on the monitor.
Functionality is the same for a cable connection which requires an AV adaptor.

For iPads you need a Lightning AV adapter (to HDMI or VGA).
iPad Air and iPad Pro models can use a USB-C AV adapter (or a USB-C dock which provides e.g. HDMI connectivity as well as additional ports); the Air and Pro can extend their display, that is the connected monitor can show other things than the iPad.
