My iPad 3 has been having troubles locking up with about 1.2 GB left of space, ever since iOS 7. I feel in have a worn solid state cell.

Is there any way to detect or mark a cell bad? Will erase all content reformat/detect bad spots and then a restore fix my issue?

Is there any known way to detect worn cells/pages in storage? Any recommendations?

I'm looking for knowledge or references. Internet and forum searches have left me empty.
