iPad storage. How much space are you really getting?

So bought myself a 16gb and it says I have 13.4gb free. I believe it's slightly different for all iPads. Not complaining. Just wondering what the rest of you all are getting? I understand some of it is used for iOS.

At the moment I can't update my apps because I have no space lol! Need to delete some games. Half I don't even play!

I upgraded from a 32gb original to a 64gb new iPad and after restoring my backup and syncing with iTunes I only have 20gb left. Whatever space you think you need go up at least one model.

Take into account that the iOS takes space as well...

A 250GB is not going to be 250GB, it is closer to 237GB. Yoru not losing anything, just a difference between what the Marketers define as a gigabyte as to the math behind it.
