iPad iPad suddenly went into lost mode

Hi

I was using my iPad when it suddenly went into lost mode and the screen locked then asked for Passcode.

I then had an email to confirm this. My password would be impossible to guess and only i use the iPad. I immediately changed the password on the account.

Would i be right in thinking someone maybe accessed the account or could it be an iCloud bug.

Nobody even has the email address used on the iPad/iCloud account as it's not used for facetime, emails, etc. I don't use it for the App store or anything.

Very odd really !
