ipad to iphone as router

hi. I am brand new to all this iStuff so please excuse my ignorance if this is something really simple...
Can I use my iPhone as a wireless router to send a presentation from my iPad 2 via wifi or bluetooth to the iPhone, then using the VGA adapter to connect the iPhone to a projector? I know I can use the iPhone as a remote for my iPad and hook the iPad up using the VGA adapter, but I want to have the iPad in front of me and the iPhone sitting off with the projector.
