ipad update

i have a ipad 1 with version 3.2.2 and i want to update it to version 4.2.1 and still be able to jailbreak it. is that possible?? if so can somebody tell me the right way to do it.. thank you

You can update to 4.3.1 via iTunes then jb using http://www.iclarified.com/entries/index.php?caid=2&scid=30&seid=16

Do you have SHSH blobs stored for 4.2.1? If so you can upgrade to 4.2.1, if not then no. Your only option is 4.3.1, and have you saved SHSH blobs for this version?
