Hello everyone !

My ipad is version 6.1 and it is jail broken. I want to update to version 7.0.4 but I have a few questions.

If I do update, do i restore my ipad and then update through iTunes?
Will I lose all my pictures and files if I do restore and update it to 7.0.4?

Please help and thank you !

To update and jailbreak 7.0.4, you have to click "restore" in iTunes. It will then download the firmware package and then restore once the download is done

To make sure you lose nothing, make a backup using iTunes first. And then click the "restore" button. After you're done with the restore, it'll ask if you want to set up as new or restore from a backup. Choose restore from the backup and after it's done doing it's thing, you'll be on 7.0.4 with everything preserved

You can proceed to jailbreak with evasi0n7 or wait until everything settles down

You plug it to iTunes and hit restore.
That will restore it with the latest 7.0.4
Then once its done you can restore from backup so everything will still be there.
And then you can go ahead and JB it if you want.

I did that and my iPad gets stuck in the Apple boot logo. I've tried it multiple times but same results each time.

I know the iPad 2 has many issues with the jb. Hope they release an updated evasion.
Not sure about the mini retina.
Both go into a continuous boot loop. Installed 7.0.4 from the ispw file from iTunes. Hope they fix it soon too.
