iPad ipad - whst's app , imessage question

If a person I want to contact via imessages does not have a iphone and just is using ipod touch, or ipad how will they see my info, meaning will they see my number or just my email address.
Same thing with what's app, doe sit show the person you are communicating with your phone number?

If i want to use a different email than the one that's assigned with ic loud for imessaging can i do that.

I am trying to find a way to contact someone via these methods but don't want to give out my main email or phone number.

Hey there, you should definitely look at Gliph.

It does free text and picture messaging. It also uses encryption and keeps your email and phone number private from the other party.

It doesn't do SMS yet, and you'll have to use the 2X mode because it is designed for iPod Touch / iPhone. But from what you're describing it would solve your problem and it is F-R-E-E.
