I'm in the process of choosing an iPad (once iOS5 & iCloud come already loaded), but I'm unsure of which Internet bundle I'd like to have or which is more convenient... just having WiFi or having both WiFi & 3G?!

What are any recommendations for when I make my purchase?!

Nobody knows your individual needs or planned usage. If you're always going to be within wifi range then maybe you don't need 3G. I happen to believe that 3G for a portable device will always be more useful because you just never know. And if you travel internationally then 3G is a must.

I use 3G on my iPhone a lot. I'd like to be able to use the iPad while traveling, around the house & especially in my classroom...

My son asked me the same question. I knew his needs very well. We discussed it for days before he purchased his iPad. I recommended he get a 16Gb WiFi model, he purchased a 64Gb WiFi+3G.

I purchased a 3G iPad for two reasons. With 3G I get internet everywhere if need be. The other reason, to have GPS on my iPad. Its way too handy that GPS on the iPad!

That is a very smart reason... I think you just solved my dilemma! GPS ... Very very good point:)

Delighted that you have made your decision. We all know you will enjoy your new iPad. Please post your impressions once you have it in hand.

I got the 3g + wifi 32 gb iPad 2 like 3 days ago and I am loving the 3g since I used to use the 3g on my iPhone all the time. In a city with a lot of buses, the internet saves you a lot of waiting time outside. GPS is also great when traveling. And because I didn't want to pay for the extra $ for the unlimited messaging on the iPhone I got a messaging app on my iPad instead and its free. Watching youtube videos and reading books on it is a major plus too because the screen is so big!

I got the wi-fi 64gb iPad2 and just bluetooth it to my iPhone for Internet when I am on the road - gps still works and it beat having to pay for 2 data plans! Only thing is it drains phone battery so I either charge it while where in the car or have an auxiliary battery.

How do you bluetooth the two devices together? Is the connect any slower than usual when doing this?! I already have a car charger for my iPhone... so battery wouldn't concern me while traveling. :)

The Apple iPhone wall charger will not charge an iPad. You should check the specs of whatever brand of car charger you have to make sure it is compatible with the iPad.
